Please take a moment and check out this link

The link will take you to a diagram called "Cone of Learning" it gives a good visual of why we learn more from an experience that we are actively involved in. I found this diagram which helps to understand social constructivist theory. The more a person is actively engaged in a learning experience the more they will remember long term.

Hi Kirsty
What a fantastic job you've done with your blog! I'm very impressed with you blog design. I checked out the link you posted and I agree 100% with the 'Cone of Learning' model and with what your saying about the value of learning within a supportive and interactive environment. Throughout our degree we have been given opportunities to explore and engage in a variety of learning experiences, but the most valuable personally to me is the supportive hands-on real life learning i.e. teaching practicum's. Many discussions with our peers also support this model of learning. Well done Kirsty!
